- New photos echo earlier reports of a fingerprint scanner. August 28, 2013 10:03 AM PDT The HTC One could offer support for a fingerprint scanner. (Credit: ePrice) New photos and details of the HTC One Max have landed online, echoing early hardware and software rumors of an extra large phone with a 5.9-inch display. Once known by its 'T6' code name, the HTC One Max is expected to officially break cover in the coming weeks. Rumors have been spinning for the better part of 2013, suggesting that a phablet-sized version of the HTC One flagship handset was imminent. The latest round of specs, obtained by rbmen (translate), show the China Mobile version running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with HTC's Sense 5.5 UI. Dovetailing with earlier rumors, the One Max could contain a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 16GB internal storage, and 2GB RAM. The most recent batch of images also indicates a fingerprint scanner on the back; however, ePrice also reports that this could be reserved for the Chinese version only. Also unclear at this stage is whether the phone will use a stylus like the Samsung Galaxy Note series and LG Optimus Vu/Intuition, or not. The HTC One Max is expected to be introduced in September, possibly at the annual IFA trade show. Supersize me: Giants of the smartphone world 1-2 of 7 Scroll Left Scroll Right
