Xbox announced Tuesday that it's Time Warner Cable television app is finally live and hosting 300 channels, including Bravo, Cartoon Network, CNN, Comedy Central, and more. Besides a bevy of channels, the app also features a TV guide, filtered search based on shows, channel names, and genres, Kinect voice and gesture control, access to genre-based radio stations, and more. The app is only available to Xbox Live Gold members that have a Time Warner Cable subscription in the US. Microsoft has promised that the Xbox One will allow users to instantly switch between watching live TV and playing a game. Similar Time Warner Cable apps are already available on Roku boxes, iOS, and Android devices. Apple TV is also rumored to be getting a Time Warner Cable app. The Xbox 360, meanwhile, also already offers similar cable apps (albeit with more limited channel lineups) for Fios and Comcast Xfinity customers. The partnership between Microsoft and Time Warner Cable was first announced in June. Xbox said it will add video-on-demand to the Time Warner Cable app later this year.
