As Twitter made the big announcement on Thursday that it's filing for an IPO, it's hard not to think that just eight years ago the massive social network didn't even exist.


One of Twitter's founders Jack Dorsey is known for posting relics from the social network's early beginnings on his Tumblr blog. A couple of years ago, he posted a 2006 IM conversation between himself and another Twitter founder Biz Stone. This conversation reads somewhat like a founding document of the company.
