Word had it that Nokia was unwrapping its Lumia 1520 smartphone on September 26, but new reports say the device won't be debuted until mid-October, according to The Verge.

The 6-inch Windows Phone has popped up in various photos leaked online, but Nokia has kept mum on where and when the device will first be seen.

Codenamed "Bandit," the 1520 will reportedly offer a 1080p screen, granting it the largest and sharpest display among all Windows Phone devices. More 1080p Windows Phone handsets are expected to follow. The 1520 will also reportedly be constructed with a polycarbonate body and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor, while a 20-megapixel camera will grace the rear.

CNET contacted Nokia for comment. We'll update this story when we get more information.
