The Puzzle Susan is a Kickstarter project designed by Nam H. Le that playfully rethinks the traditional lazy Susan. While it may not be as practical as one large rotating tray, it sure looks a lot more fun -- and will definitely spur the dinner conversation beyond the ordinary, "Please pass the salt."

Designed to hold condiments, sauces, and the like rather than full plates of food, the Puzzle Susan, which Le also calls the Puzzo Susan, works via a set of interconnecting gears. Spin one rotating tray and the next spins, and on and on and on. The result is a fun dance of condiments that sway to and fro.

Cooking can be a lot like putting together a puzzle; some pieces fit together and some pieces do not. Of course, unlike most puzzles where the pieces fit together one way and one way alone, cooking allows a huge variety of different combinations. Sometimes those combinations work out better than others, but that's where creativity comes in.

Here we see that creativity in the kitchen is not confined to the cooking area; it can show up on the table as well.
