The buyout is just the latest in a long line of acquisitions under Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer. But what's different compared to many of the other acquisitions Mayer has made during her buying spree is that the Days app will continue on as a standalone app, while the team works on new projects for Yahoo. The products of many other startups have shuttered before the startups joined the tech giant. Looks like the Wander team is already drinking the Yahoo Kool-Aid. "[We're] excited to announce that we've accepted an offer to bring our work on daily habits to Yahoo," the startup wrote in its blog post, referring to Yahoo's oft-repeated mantra of providing people on the Internet tools for their "daily habits," like email or search. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but TechCrunch has reported the number to be north of $10 million. Yahoo did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the price tag. The New York-based startup Wander announced via blog post that it would join Yahoo, with its five-member crew joining a growing fleet of Yahoo mobile engineers in New York.



The startup is behind the Days app, a social diary in which users share a whole day's worth of content at once the next day, instead of sporadically throughout the day. The buyout is just the latest in a long line of acquisitions under Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer.
