Writing on his Twitter page on Tuesday, Musk said that the Tesla event, which will take place at 8 p.m. PT on Thursday night at the company's design studio in Hawthorne, will include a "live pack swap demo." That would allow for more driving without needing to stop and recharge. Last month, Tesla filed a document with the Securities and Exchange Commission outlining its plans to deliver the "capability to rapidly swap out the Model S battery pack and the development of specialized public facilities to perform such swapping, which do not currently exist but which we plan to introduce in the near future."
