- For "Star Wars" fans who fancy unusual musical instruments and desire a little extra chest support, this "Star Wars" theremin bra should do the trick. July 8, 2013 10:11 AM PDT It's a bra. It's a theremin. It's R2-D2. Some things just go together like peanut butter and jelly. Like "Star Wars" and theremins and bras. An Instructables member built such an undergarment using LEDs and an Adafruit Flora wearable microprocessor. The bra includes a photocell detector and an ultrasonic range sensor. Wave your hand in front of the bra to affect the sound. It's designed to react like a theremin, so the sound changes with how close you are to it. Yep, it's a beep-boop bra; though, it sounds a bit more musical than typical R2-D2 noises. You can make a DIY version using instructions provided by Instructables user caitlinsdad. I don't know who this Caitlin person is, but I'm sure she's mighty proud of her dad, despite his unusual obsession with sci-fi-themed ladies' undergarments. Everybody needs a hobby. Caitlinsdad pieced together a homemade bra for the project to avoid the embarrassment of going into a store and buying the largest bra possible. Admittedly, his homemade lingerie doesn't look that comfortable, but the flashing lights and droid noises more than make up for that shortcoming. (Via Neatorama)
