(Credit: CBS Interactive) Samsung may skip the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update in favor of the 4.3 release for the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3, according to a new rumor. As some readers know first-hand, both the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 are currently awaiting an Android 4.2.2 update. According to a source known to tech site Temefy, Samsung won't issue the next update for the two units until either November or December. Allegedly, this is so that these smartphones can scoop up the 4.3 release. The anonymous tipster also claims that Samsung will upgrade the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, and a yet-announced Galaxy Note 3 to Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. Naturally, these are unconfirmed reports and Google has yet to formally recognize Android 4.3, let alone name it as its next OS build. What's more, Google hasn't even officially tied the 5.0 version to Key Lime Pie. For all we know, the 'K' release candidate could become Android 4.5 or some other version. Previous reports indicate that the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 are in line to see the 5.0 version of Android. Also rumored to pick up the major release are the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, and the Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet. I'll stack up these rumors and more in my weekly Android rumor roundup.
