Aside from being able to survive in a meter of water for 30 minutes, the smartphone has a 4-inch display, with a 800x480-pixel resolution. It ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. In addition, similar to the Kyocera Torque, it has Smart Sonic Receiver technology. This means that in lieu of an in-ear speaker, audio instead travels directly through the cartilage in your ear via a ceramic transducer inside the handset. Other features include a 1,600mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of ROM, and expandable storage up to 32GB. Sprint announced today that it will be offering the waterproof Kyocera Hydro Edge on Friday, July 19 for $19.99, after users sign a two-year agreement and send in a mail-in-rebate.



The mid-level 3G device will also be available on Boost Mobile for the prepaid price of $149.99 starting Tuesday, July 23.
