A spokeswoman for the New York Times Co. confirmed the site is down but didn't have other details. A tweet from the paper's Lede Blog Twitter account cited "technical problems." The New York Times Co. also owns, for the time being, the Boston Globe, but that newspaper's Web site remained up.
