Game publisher Activision is giving an upgrade path to gamers who want to pick up Call of Duty: Ghosts on older consoles.

Activision on Tuesday announced that gamers who pick up a copy of its upcoming Call of Duty: Ghost for the PlayStation 3 will be able to "upgrade" that title to a PlayStation 4 version for $10 more. Ghosts will hit store shelves on older consoles on November 5. The title will be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.

Activision's announcement comes after GameStop announced earlier this month that it will offer a similar $10 upgrade to customers who buy the Xbox 360 version of Ghosts and then trade it in for an Xbox One copy. GameStop is offering the same deal on Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, and Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag.
