Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Over the past 10 years, Marakana has developed courses on Android, Java, HTML5, Scala, Python, Hadoop, and jQuery and has instructed more than 100,000 engineers, founders Marko and Sasa Gargenta said in a blog post. "Being able to continually learn on the job and develop a sense of expertise or mastery is a fundamental factor in success in the technology industry and long-term happiness at a company." In keeping with the open-source spirit, Fry said that Twitter will make available a selection of Twitter University materials to those outside the organization who would like to participate in the learning process.
