Juan Perez Gonzalez was arrested on Monday in Louisville after he crashed his tractor trailer into a utility pole. The truck was found to be carrying more than $12 million in LG G2 smartphones. CNET reported last week that 22,500 LG G2 handsets had gone missing at a truck stop in Gary, Ind. According to the Kentucky State Police, it partnered with Louisville Metro Police, the FBI, and the National Insurance Crime Bureau to locate and conduct surveillance on the cargo. Upon arrested Perez Gonzalez, the police force charged him with Receiving Stolen Property Over $10,000, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Theft by Unlawful Taking over $1,000,000. According to local news site WDRB, Perez Gonzalez is currently out on bail. The investigation into the alleged LG G2 theft is ongoing.
