Apple might be the next retailer to open its stores on Thanksgiving Day.

The company is planning to have some of its retail stores open on Thanksgiving, ifoAppleStore reported Thursday, citing people who claim to have knowledge of its plans. Apple's Fifth Avenue store in New York City, as well as its retail locations in San Francisco, San Diego, and Miami, among others, will be open on the holiday, the store-tracking site claims.

Apple has in the past opened its doors on Thanksgiving in just a couple of locations. This year's list could grow considerably, as other retailers, including Sears and Target, announced plans to be open on that day.

ifoAppleStore has not said what time the Apple stores will open on Thanksgiving.

CNET has contacted Apple for comment. We will update this story when we have more information.
