- New Sprint subscribers can shave $100 off the regular price if they port over an existing number. November 8, 2013 6:13 AM PST Google's Nexus 5. (Credit: Josh Miller/CNET) Sprint customers who've been waiting for the Nexus 5 can now buy the new phone. As of Friday, the 16GB Nexus 5 is available through both Sprint and Best Buy. Sprint seems to have the better deal, selling the phone for just $49. But that offer is good only for new Sprint customers who bring over an existing phone number. Best Buy is selling the 16GB Nexus 5 for $149, a price that's good for both new and current Sprint subscribers. Both prices require the usual two-year agreement. Buyers can order the phone online and either have it shipped directly or pick it up at their local Sprint or Best Buy store. Those of you who prefer the unlocked version of the Nexus 5 can order it through Google Play at a cost of $349 for the 16GB model and $399 for the 32GB version. But don't expect it anytime soon. Google currently shows a wait time of 3 to 4 weeks for the 16GB black and white flavors and the 32GB black model, and about 2 weeks for the 32GB white version.
