- A new, fast lens for the X series. by Lori Grunin January 6, 2014 12:00 AM PST (Credit: Fujifilm) LAS VEGAS -- Portrait shooters who've invested in Fujifilm's X series interchangeable-lens cameras will likely greet its newest member, a 56mm f1.2, with glee. The Fujinon XF56mmF1.2 R sounds quite nice, and features an aperture ring, an updated coating in addition to the standard Super EBC, and support for the company's Lens Modulation Optimizer technology. The minimum focus distance is about 28 inches, which is okay for a lens with a 85mm-equivalent angle of view. Other relevant specs are a 7-blade aperture and internal focus. The Fujinon XF56mmF1.2 R is expected to ship in Feburary and will run a not-entirely-ouchless $999.95.
