The company unveiled three new routers today at CES, ranging of top-tier to mobile including the AirStation Extreme AC 1900 Gigabit Dual Band Wireless Router (model WXR-1900DHP), the AirStation AC 1200 Dual Band Wireless Router (model WHR-1166D) and the AirStation AC433 Wireless Travel Router (model WMR-433). (Credit: Dong Ngo/CNET) The AirStation Extreme AC 1900 Gigabit Dual Band Wireless Router offers high-speed, dual-band wireless connectivity, delivering currently the top performance of up to 1300Mbps on the 5Ghz band (when used with AC clients) and up to 600Mbps on the 2.4Ghz, at the same time. The device is powered by a 1Ghz processor and is equipped with three wireless transmitters and HighPower Technology for improved performance and range. It also comes with customizable Control QoS features that automatically prioritizes multimedia and gaming traffic, such as Netflix, YouTube and Xbox LIVE. It offers up to 866Mbps on the 5Ghz band and up to 300Mbps on the 2.4Ghz band and a wealth of other home-friendly features. It also supports Gigabit Ethernet. The AirStation AC433 is the company's first 802.11ac travel router, similar to the DIR-510L from D-Link. This is a tiny device that offers selectable dual-band, meaning it can work on either the 2.4Ghz or the 5Ghz band at a time, offering up to 150Mbps or 433Mbps, respectively. All three, the WXR-1900DHP, WHR-1166D, and AC433, are slated to be available in the second quarter of this year at an estimated cost of $200, $90 and $60, respectively.
