Mayer made the comments Tuesday at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where the Consumer Electronics Show is being held. Financial terms weren't disclosed. Mayer said Aviate would help Yahoo's mobile offerings. If you look at stock quotes in the morning, Aviate can deliver Yahoo Finance to your phone automatically, she said, for example. Under Mayer's leadership, Yahoo has resurged into a stronger competitor to Google and Facebook by giving businesses mail, search, and other tech-focused products a fresh coat of paint, as well as making a bigger push in mobile. Mayer has also made headline-grabbing moves, like the $1.1 billion acquisition of Tumblr and poaching of media bigwigs like Katie Couric and David Pogue. Couric made an appearance at Mayer's keynote later in the address. CNET's live coverage of Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer's CES 2014 keynote address
