The only "catch" to the deal is the level of service a user is subscribed to. In order to qualify for the service, a Verizon Wireless subscriber must have at least one smartphone on the plan. As for the Fios service, the discount only applies to customers with the Quantum triple play that offers 50Mbps of high speed Internet service or higher. But other than that, Verizon says nothing else is required of the customer. Verizon is offering the Quantum Fios service for $89.99 per month. With the wireless discount, a customer would be able to get it for $79.99 a month for as long as they maintain a Verizon Wireless smartphone account. They'll also receive a $10 discount on their Verizon Wireless bill for being subscribed to the Fios service. The new offer is a limited time promotion. New customers who sign up for these services between March 7 through April 19 are eligible. And in order to activate the discount, they must register on the Verizon website by May 19, 2014. This is the first wireless and broadband promotion that Verizon has run since the company bought out Vodafone's 45 percent stake in the Verizon Wireless business. Verizon paid $130 billion to buyout Vodafone last month in what ended up being the third largest corporate acquisition ever.
