Join me, my fellow editor Xiomara Blanco, and photo man (or "photographer", as he prefers to be called) James Martin as we bring you on-point and insightful -- with equal doses of objectivity and good-natured pithiness -- coverage of the event. This comes right smack dab in the middle of IDF (Intel Developer Forum), so it's a good bet most of what we'll see will be of the Intel/Windows 8 (or 8.1) variety. The event starts at 5 p.m. PT and is scheduled to conclude by 5:30 p.m. PT. We'll likely see the Core-i7-based Zenbook UX301 and the Transformer Book Trio which houses two Intel processors: a Core-i7 for the main processing unit and a separate dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2760 processor just for the screen. There's also the off chance that a 2013 Transformer Infinity will show up, but given Intel focus -- the Infinity uses an Nvidia Tegra 4 -- I'm not holding my breath. This week the company will focus on the U.S. market, but I expect many of the products demoed in Germany to make their American debut. I'm also hoping for a few new unannounced surprises. Asus seems to be doubling down on the whole Transformer line concept, with multiple products that do multiple things. For now it seems to be working from them.
