The company plans to integrate Zigbee technology in the next Samsung Galaxy, Pocket-lint is reporting, citing people who claim to have knowledge of its plans. With help from the ZigBee Alliance, Samsung will bundle ZigBee wireless technology into its Galaxy handsets that will allow users to control everything from lighting switches to heating controls, providing full smart home automation. In order for there to be real value to customers, they'd need ZigBee-compatible products running in their homes. One other tidbit from the report: Samsung might not be the only company considering jumping into the ZigBee fray. HTC is reportedly considering offering home automation through ZigBee's technology, as well.
