Gamers who trade-in an Xbox 360 game can snag its Xbox One version for just $10, courtesy of Amazon.

A new promotion from the retail giant allows you to trade in certain qualifying Xbox 360 games, including Call of Duty: Ghosts, Need for Speed Rivals, Madden NFL 25, and NBA 2K14. After Amazon receives the game and ensures that it's in good condition, you can order the Xbox One version of the same title.

For giving up your Xbox 360 game, Amazon rewards you with both a bonus credit of $25 and a trade-in value of at least $25. All of the qualifying Xbox One games sell for around $60, which means your total cost for the new version is $10. The Xbox One titles won't be available until December 31, but you can pre-order them now.

The offer is limited to one per customer. And the deal itself expires on December 31, so you'll have to take it on faith that you'll want the Xbox One version of your favorite qualifying game.

And keep in mind that the Xbox One won't play Xbox 360 games. So if you plan to buy an Xbox One and get rid of your Xbox 360 console, you'll need to repurchase all of your favorite titles.
